Saying good-bye to a friend

This is my attempt at a eulogy for a person that taught me so much. I hope and pray that I do him justice.
  Today, I am rather sad. Yesterday during my classes, I got the message that John Hubert passed away. I am sad because he was a friend and a wonderful musician. He could make the organ sing and make it do things that, to me, made him a world class organist and piano player. He taught me how to sing better than I ever thought I could. He persisted that I join the choir and I thank God that he was so persistant. He taught me how to give my gift back to God in the form of singing with the choir. He brought out the bass and tenor voice that I did not know I had.
  John was also tempermental. He was very particular as some musicians can be. Sometimes he seemed difficult. Despite all that his heart was full of music. He wanted pieces sung correctly and yet he knew how to laugh and enjoy music. As I said earlier, his playing of the organ and piano was "heavenly."
 John now rests in the arms of his savior and I can only think that he is probably holding choir practice for the angels and saints already. Rest in peace John; know that you are loved by many and may God and the light of the world, Jesus Christ shine on you until we meet again, my friend.
